"Cake Face" and how to avoid it

A lot of teenagers wear make up every single day. A light make up is good to be used to cover some 'mistakes', but if we over do it then the result is sad...... This is called Cake Face. To avoid this situation we have to follow some important things. Here are some:

The Right Way to Wear Foundation & Concealer

In high school I wore a full face of  foundation every day despite the fact that I had pretty nice skin for a 16-year-old. What I wish I knew then was that foundation is meant to cover up only your uneven spots like the cheeks, around the nose and maybe the chin. Once the foundation is in place, you can then dot concealer on any ruddy or pimply spots the foundation doesn't cover. Remember, with foundation, apply only on the spots that need it.

Matte is Out, Dewy is In

As we age, our skin loses not only its elasticity, but it also tends to lose moisture. This can lead to "cake face." A matte face is not a youthful, dewy face. Our goal is to make our skin appear dewy and as youthful as possible, even if we are 70. This means keeping skin as moisturized as possible.

What to Do About Those Freckles?

Some women and girls with freckles try to cover them up with thick foundation. Don't! Try to embrace your freckles and grow to love them. Freckles make you unique and accepting them will make you more beautiful. After all, it's almost impossible to cover up freckles without achieving "cake face."

Choose the Correct Foundation & Concealer

Cake face is worst when when someone's wearing the wrong foundation shade.
It's really important to find the right shade of foundation or tinted moistrurizer. You want the foundation to blend in seamlessly with your skin color. I recommend using 2 different shades one for summer when your skin is darker and then a lighter shade in winter. You can mix the two in spring and fall. I recommend trying out foundation at a place like Sephora so an expert can say "yay or nay."
Drugstores like Rite Aid these days also have liberal return policies so if you try something and it's not right, return it.
A couple rules of thumb is to choose a sheer liquid rather than a powder foundation if you have dry skin. If you have oily skin, opt for an oil-free tinted moisturizer or foundation and keep blotting papers on hand to blot your skin as the day wears on.

Keep Skin Hydrated as the Day Wears On

If you have dry skin, it's really important to keep skin hydrated and moisturized all day long. I like to spray mineral water on my face to add moisture. I will also dot on a bit of moisturizer on any "cakey spots."

Thanks for reading and i hope i helped you! An dyou TEENS try to make up light because if you over do it you gonna look like a 40 year olg woman!!! We don't want that...... Good luck!!XOXO Danai Psaradelli

Do you want to FEEL prettier? Here you are!!

1. Remember that your outer beauty is a reflection of your inner beauty, so start feeling prettier by making an effort to like your looks. When you start caring about your appearance, you begin to take care of your whole being.
2. Instead of focusing on your flaws, get stoked about your plus points. Whatever your good features are (and everyone has them!)--your big brown eyes, your cute nose or your full lips--take time to appreciate them. It'll go a long way toward bolstering your beauty confidence.
3. Find your fave photo. Get out your scrapbook and search for that picture that shows you at your best. Take a good look...you'll wonder why you were so down on yourself in the first place.
4. Even though it's winter, soak up some rays. Sunshine's known to be a major mood-booster. In fact, in some Northern European countries where the sun rarely shines during winter, people go for light therapy to fight depression. (But sun damage is even more depressing than sun deprivation--be sure to wear sunscreen.)
5. Give your skin some extra special care. When you pamper yourself, it shows. So commit to better daily skincare and give yourself at-home facial for skin-smoothing results.
6.  Go for a free makeover. Make your way to the makeup counter of your local department store and ask for some assistance trying new colors. If you always wear shades of plum, tell the sales associate to break out the peach tones for a completely new look. You'll go home with a fab new take on your face.
7. Color your mood happy. When you're feeling down about what you see in the mirror, don't grab for that gray coat that seems to match your mood perfectly. Put on a bright color to kick you back into gear. For example, try red, the most energetic color in the spectrum.
8. If it's a bad hair day that's causing you grief, hide your hair scare under a hat and get involved in an energetic activity--anything--that'll get your mind off trashing your tresses.
9. Get toned. You're sure to like your looks better when you feel fit and your muscles are defined. So find a fitness regimen that suits your level and get moving!
Love yourself if you dont then who will? | via Tumblr10. Feel pretty all the way down to your feet with an at-home pedicure. Go as wild as you want! Wear a toe ring or two. Paint each nail a different color, use glitter or sample a shade that you're not quite ready to wear on your hands.

LOVE YOURSELF,
IF YOU DON'T THEN WHO WILL?...
