How to Take Better Care of Yourself

    Get plenty of sleep. Sleep is a key component. You need at the minimum eight hours of sleep, you don't want tired skin and bags under your eyes, or people will think you're a cave monster.

    Hydrate your skin! Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. You need to hydrate your skin all day, so it keeps the water level at the suggested level your body needs.

    Moisturize your skin. Its very important that you do this, you may not have moisturizer if you're a girl you should have it because you wear makeup and its a necessity to wear makeup. Get your hands on some moisturizing lotion; it really softens up your skin.

    • Get a foundation that you want your skin tone to be. Aim for neutral colors like brown, green, white, and black if you've got a light to medium skin tone. If you have dark skin, obviously black and brown won't apply to you, so go with pink, purple, green, and red.

    • Make sure you wear cover-up so those pimples and blemishes are gone.

    Take care of your hair. Hair is a hard and very complex system. If you have it straight, you want it curly, and if you've got the locks, you want it straight. Either way, nobody is perfectly satisfied with your hair. You have to work with what you've got.

    • Try to avoid applying heat to your hair. Whether you're curling or straightening it, it's best to let your locks lie naturally.

    • Deal with dandruff. Its natural. Nearly everyone has it, although it's more noticeable in darker hair. Use a dandruff shampoo and a fine-toothed comb to rid your dandruff, and be sure to brush your hair regularly.

    • Get a haircut that matches your facial structure. You don’t want a buzzcut if you have a soft face. You want something that matches your personality and also matches your bone structure. Go to a salon and they'll have professionals helping you.

    Mouth hygiene. Brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss every day. Use mouthwash to keep your breath always fresh.

    Keep your body clean. In the shower or bath, use a good-quality soap. Wash your hair at least a few times a week, if not more often. Clean your hands, nails, feet, and everything in between. Wash your face in the shower as well as separately with sensitive soap.

    Make sure your clothes fit your body type. Go to your store that you get clothes at, and get colors that look good on you. (Colors that look good on you, match your eye color and hair color and skin tone.)

    Keep your body in shape. Work out, but don't go overboard. Start jogging or lifting weights slowly and get into your own cardio routine.
